PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH, circa 1976. In its original state, the North Country's "Shopping Showplace" encompassed 400,000 leasable square feet and housed forty-five stores and services.

J.C. Penney's PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH store was dedicated in May 1976, signalling completion of the mall.

A Schenectady-based Price Chopper had been the first operational PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH store. The supermarket, a freestanding structure built in the northwest parking area, opened for business in January 1975.

Magrams ["May-gramz"], a Vermont-based retailer of women's and men's apparel, opened their second store, at PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH, in April 1975.
