In the mid-1980s, PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH was hemmed in and could not accommodate a physical expansion. Pyramid Companies developed an adjacent site as CHAMPLAIN CENTRE NORTH. This complex was dedicated in July 1987. A newspaper advert announces the grand re-opening of PYRAMID MALL PLATTSBURGH, which was now officially known as CHAMPLAIN CENTRE SOUTH.
