The 16th shopping mall in the Texas Metroplex was built in the Wedgewood section of Fort Worth. The first stores in HULEN MALL opened for business between May and August of 1977.

In this May 1977 view, the mall-to-be is still in the throes of construction. However, off to the right, its Sanger-Harris anchor store is complete and has just welcomed its first shoppers.
