The standard Woolworth was a "variety store" or 5 & 10, which encompassed between 20,000 and 80,000 square feet. A Woolco was usually much larger. Stores would encompass from 80,000 to 130,000 square feet and include the following departments;

Red Grille restaurant, automotive service center, men's-women's & children's apparel, men's- women's & children's shoes, hardware, housewares, small home appliances, major home appliances, draperies, floor coverings, bedding, jewelry, books, luggage, cameras, phonographs & records, sewing machines & accessories, stationery, toys, sporting goods, pets & pet supplies, smoking accessories, candy, drugs, health & beauty aids and a garden center.
