As part of the 1980s redo, the Main Entrance at WASHINGTON SQUARE was shifted southward. The new ingress was a steel and glass structure 82 feet in length.

The mall's Teflon tent Festival Food Court can now be classed as an historic 1980s structure. It is one of the only Teflon-tent mall facilities still standing in the United States. Other tent-roofed malls, such as Houston's TOWN & COUNTRY, San Mateo's FASHION ISLAND and Little Rock's UNIVERSITY MALL, have long since been demolished.

Merchants Outlet, a mall within a mall, operated in the old Stewart's / Ayres building between July 2010 and June 2012. The indoor flea market consisted of over 500 vendor stalls. It was replaced by an industrial facility in early 2020.

Here we see the WASHINGTON SQUARE North Wing. A Sears nameplate appears in the distance. The retailer operated a mall store between October 1963 and April 2018.

St. Mary's Hospital opened a medical facility in the East Wing of the mall in 2004.
