Three area shopping hubs, of varying sizes, were in direct competition with RUTLAND MALL. WESTWAY MALL, seen here, is technically not a mall but a strip-type shopping center.

DIAMOND RUN MALL is actually a mall. Dedicated in August 1995, it encompassed approximately 451,000 leasable square feet. As one might expect, the 30 million dollar shopping venue immediately put the hurt on RUTLAND MALL.
