The second expansion of MISSION VALLEY CENTER, dedicated in 1983, was a more ambitious project. A large Northeast Wing (in dark gray) added several new inline stores and a Saks Fifth Avenue. The shopping complex now encompassed nearly 1.6 million leasable square feet and, for the next 14 years, was the largest mall in the metropolitan area.
