May Company California built its sixteenth branch in the North County suburbs of San Diego. The 3 million dollar store, designed by Welton Becket & Associates, anchored the PLAZA CAMINO REAL mall and opened for business in February 1969. It featured the Terrace Room, an upscale restaurant.
