Macy's Inc. announced the closing of their 11-year-old WESTGATE MALL store in January 2017. The final day of operation was in March of the same year.

By 2022, the abandoned Macy's on the north end of the mall has been divided four ways and retenanted. Burlington, Planet Fitness, Dick's Sporting Goods and PCX opened stores between September 2018 and August 2020. Liam's Home Furniture, in an adjacent store space, welcomed first shoppers in December 2019.
