In early 1964, GLEN BURNIE MALL encompassed approximately 329,000 leasable square feet and housed an initial eighteen stores and services. Its parking area had spaces for 3,500 autos.

The north anchor store proposed in the early 1960s was not completed until 1969. A Mid-Century Modern entrance, depicted here, was added to the mall at the same time. The adjacent anchor store was built as a Topps discount mart. After this closed, the space was taken by Toys "R" Us. They would operate at GBM for over 43 years.
