CLEARWATER MALL was done in by COUNTRYSIDE MALL, with a little help from other shopping centers in the over-malled Bay Area. At last count, eight complexes have been demolished, with two being repurposed as office centers. A wrecking ball tore into CLEARWATER MALL in April 2002, with a  large power plaza -also known as CLEARWATER MALL- being dedicated in November 2003.
