This building has a long and varied history. It was built, in the early '70s, as a Hinky Dinky supermarket. J.C Penney moved in in 1986 and moved out in 1995. Circuit City was in operation between 1996 and 2009. An Aspen Athletic Club took over in 2011. This morphed into a Gold's Gym in 2014 and Genesis Health Club in 2016.

In mid-2013, the facility was sold to a Connecticut investment group and renamed GATEWAY MALL. Dick's joined the complex in the summer of 2017, increasing its gross leasable area to 1,072,000 square feet. Younkers and Sears pulled up stakes in August 2018 and March 2019. The site plan above depicts the shopping hub as it stood in the summer of 2020, its 60th year in business.
