Kenwood Towne Centre

KENWOOD PLAZA was totally reconfigured in the late 1980s. Most of the strip plaza was demolished, with only the west store block and anchor stores left standing. A dual-level, fully enclosed mall was built. The first phase of the new KENWOOD TOWNE CENTRE was formally dedicated in October 1987.

A freestanding Kroger, relocated from an original PLAZA store, appears in dark gray. In medium gray is late '80s construction. The mall now encompasses a tad over 1 million leasable square feet. Its expanded parking facilities now accommodate 5,600 autos.
