WINROCK was featured in American International Pictures' "Bunny O'Hare," which premiered in October 1971. Bette Davis and Ernest Borgnine ride a Triumph TRW Trophy, starting at the Wards Auto Center. They wreak havoc inside the Wards store, buzz though the East Court, run down the middle of the Central Mall, through the lobby of the White Winrock and exit though the southwest parking area.

A circa-'73 plan shows several recent modifications. J.C. Penney upgraded their store to a full-line "Penneys" in 1966 (in dark gray). Dillard's, which had rebranded the Fedway chain in 1971, opened a new store in 1972. It was joined with the existing complex by a North Mall addition (in light gray). At the time of this layout, WINROCK CENTER was still entirely open-air (it would be enclosed in 1975-'76).
