The Westland National Bank tower was built in the mall's south parking area. The building was completed in late 1971.

The decline of  WESTLAND CENTER was well underway by 1989, when May D & F shuttered their store. The complex was demalled between 1992 and 1994 and renamed WESTLAND TOWN CENTER. Structures once part of the mall are surrounded in blue on this circa-2004 layout.

Sears was the only major structure left standing when the complex was demalled. The store, which anchored the west end of WESTLAND for over 55 years, was shuttered in late 2018.

Greater Denver's RTD light rail system extended service to -and beyond- WESTLAND in April 2013. The new W Line added 12 route miles and eleven station stops to the railway grid. Its Oak station is situated 2 blocks south of the shopping center.
