In 1966, BULLOCK'S FASHION SQUARE (Sherman Oaks) has been in operation for 4 years. The complex is anchored by the Bullock's San Fernando Valley department store situated on its east end. An adjoining strip center, GLENDALE FEDERAL PLAZA, has just been completed. At this time, FASHION SQUARE spans approximately 422,900 leasable square feet. There are thirty-six stores and parking spaces for 2,700 autos.

A circa-1985 plan shows the mall's first expansion. Built in 1976-1977, the extension added a second anchor -The Broadway- two parking garages and fourteen inline stores (in light gray). The existing I. Magnin was also doubled in size in 1978. With these improvements, FASHION SQUARE SHERMAN OAKS spans approximately 682,200 leasable square feet and contains fifty-five tenant spaces.


An enclosing renovation was done between 1988 and 1990. A second level was added, which included a Food Court. Several entry halls were either closed-off completely or reduced in width. Size-wise, the revitalized shopping hub encompasses approximately 848,000 leasable square feet and houses 135 stores. Its expanded parking facilities now accommodate 4,035 autos.
