In an attempt to keep up with SOLANO MALL, LARWIN PLAZA was renovated and renamed. As of March 1989, the complex would be known as VALLEJO PLAZA.

As part of the 2003 makeover, all storefronts were re-oriented toward the east, with those previously facing onto the shopping concourse being sealed. This, in effect, cut off the southwest store blocks from the rest of the complex. They were demolished in 2004. The 7 acres they occupied were redeveloped as Broadstone Sterling Village, which started leasing apartments in 2005.
