By the turn of the 20th century, the mall is known as DUTCH SQUARE CENTER. A major alteration was completed in 1997, when a vacant Tapp's was bulldozed and replaced by a megaplex cinema (in gray). This renovation included an interior and exterior face lift and retenanting of an empty Woolco space by Burlington Coat Factory and Office Depot. The White's store morphed into a Belk-Simpson in 1999.

DUTCH SQUARE CENTER, circa-2018. The only major difference from the 2002 plan is the west anchor, which was rebranded as a standard Belk in 2011 and shuttered in 2014. A portion of the first floor was sectioned into a new location for Planet Fitness, which moved from an adjacent store space in April 2018.

In 2023, DUTCH SQUARE CENTER perseveres. Out of sixty-four tenant spaces, twenty-three are vacant. The latest news concerns the in-mall cinema on the east end of the complex. The AMC chain closed it in August 2022. The venue re-opened, under new ownership, in September.
