One of the twin Houston shopping centers built by the Rouse Company, NORTHWEST MALL encompassed 794,000 leasable square feet. ALMEDA MALL, its sister center, housed 797,000. Both complexes were dedicated in October 1968 and shared the same physical layout. Most stores in the twin centers were also the same.
By 1976, a few things had changed. Foley's had been enlarged. It is also likely that the Foley's Tire Center and Penneys Auto Center had been shuttered by this time.
