The other enclosed mall in the borough is located 1 block northwest of QUEENS CENTER. QUEENS PLACE, a 100 million dollar redo of a circa-1965 Macy's, houses stores such as Target, Best Buy, Macy's Furniture Gallery and Macy's Backstage (a clearance center). The original 4-level Macy's was expanded with 2 levels. When officially dedicated, in November 2001, the "vertical power center" encompassed 440,000 leasable square feet.
