QUEENS CENTER is adjacent to a terminal on the city's labyrinthine subway. Although the complex was never directly linked with the station, it is a short walk between the two. The station, on the IND (Independent Subway System), opened in December 1936. Since then, its Slattery Plaza association has become archaic. Maps began to refer to the stop as Woodhaven Boulevard-Queens Mall in the late 1980s.
