Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!

A second view of the main shopping concourse faces toward the south. A sign for "Arcade Entrance" is seen on the left. This was the western gateway into an open-air hallway of restaurants, stores and boutiques.

A VILLAGE MALL logo montage is comprised of trademarks of various stores and services. These operated in the mall between the years 1961 and 1992.

The Village Theatre was built in the mall's northeast parking area. Originally a single-screen operation, it opened during 1969 and was twinned in 1985. The cinema was eventually converted into a live-performance venue.
