Master mall designers Victor Gruen and John Graham reputedly argued over the proper width of the standard mall shopping concourse. Gruen preferred an expansive corridor of up to 70 feet, as demonstrated by this view of Indianapolis' GLENDALE MALL.

On the other hand, Mr. Graham thought that a concourse should be no wider than the 44 foot "Miracle Mall" at Seattle's NORTHGATE CENTER.
