Following the mid-1990s expansion, the original Dillard's was sectioned into six spaces, with the largest housing Mervyn's. The store lucked out in September 2005, as it was one of twelve Texas locations (out of forty) that was not shuttered. Its good fortune finally ran out in late 2008.
