Richmond's Azalea Mall

Virginia's second fully-enclosed shopping hub was built in the northwestern environs of the Capital City. Stores in AZALEA MALL began opening in November 1962, with an official dedication held in May 1963. The prevailing slogan said "Winter, summer, spring or fall...it's always spring in Azalea Mall."

AZALEA was also the nation's very first Woolco-anchored mall. The complex featured the F.W. Woolworth Company's sixth Woolco discount mart.
