A new style of Woolco store had become commonplace by the mid-1960s.

Many of the early Woolco stores were located in small to medium-sized cities. However, the Greater New York City market was entered in the spring of 1966. Los Angeles and Southern California had its first store in late 1970, with Chicago joining the fold in late 1973.
