TANGLEWOOD MALL, 1975. In its original state, the Roanoke Valley shopping center included a seven-tenant
Convenience Center in its east parking area. The mall proper encompasses approximately 788,600 leasable square feet and contains around eighty stores. Free parking is provided for 3,300 autos.
During its early years, TANGLEWOOD MALL housed three mall-within-a-mall sections. The first, known as
The French Quarter, opened in early 1974. Second and third in line were a mini-mall
and
food court, built in a vacant Murphy's 5 & dime. Their stores opened between late 1982 and late 1983.
