Chicagoland's Woodfield Mall

Ground was broken for Chicago's WOODFIELD project in October 1969. This snapshot shows the mall under construction. "Woodfield" was an amalgamation of names of a person and company involved in the center's development; Robert E. Wood (Chairman of Sears & Roebuck) and Marshall Field & Company. They must have been unable to work "A. Alfred" or  "Taubman" into the mall moniker.
