Houston's Meyerland Plaza

The Bayou City's third shopping mall was dedicated with a "gala, colorful international-style festival" in late 1957. The Around The Shopping World In 80 Acres celebration was a homage to the Todd-AO spectacular "Around the World In 80 Days," which was the Academy Award-winning Best Picture of 1956.
