Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!

A vacant Woolco-Home Depot buiding on the north end of the mall was torn down in 2003. For 12 years, the north end of MALL OF THE AMERICAS was configured as shown here. In 2015, this section of the shopping hub was demolished to make way for a new Costco.

Speaking of which, we have a site plan showing the truncated mall. Its new Costco (in light gray) opened for business in April 2017. With its completion, MALL OF THE AMERICAS spanned approximately 672,500 leasable square feet.

The MALL OF THE AMERICAS moniker was retired in May 2022. The shopping hub would be known, henceforth, as MIDWAY CROSSINGS.
