A circa-2007 physical layout of the oft-renovated -and rebuilt- retail center. In this plan, the mall is anchored by three major department stores and a new Regal 16-screener. There are also five junior anchors; Bally Total Fitness, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, DSW and T.J. Maxx.

By the 2010s, SOUTHLAND MALL was struggling. A revitalization and repositioning, as SOUTHPLACE CITY CENTER, was proposed in September 2022. This mixed-use project would incorporate retail, office, residential and entertainment venues. Construction could be underway by mid-2023.
