Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!

The mall's 28-year-old Montgomery Ward was shuttered in 2001, demolished in 2002, and replaced -by a Target- in October 2003.

May's Lakewood, the grande dame of So-Cal suburban department stores. It has operated under three nameplates over the years. Following a 13-year Robinsons-May stint, it was Macy's-branded in July 2006. Today, Macy's uses only a portion of the gigantic 4-level building.
