The Denver Dry Goods Company, "Where Denver shops with confidence." The CHERRY CREEK store, which encompassed 93,000 square feet, was the chain's first branch. It opened its doors in October 1953 and was in business until 1987, when it morphed into a May-Daniels & Fisher ("May-D & F").

Colorado's first mall was completed in five phases. As stated, the "Denver Dry" was dedicated in 1953. A Miller's grocery was finished in February 1954. A North Arcade (in black) began opening in November 1954. Stores in the first section of a South Arcade (dark gray) began opening in June 1955. A second section (light gray) began functioning in December 1955. When fully-leased, the 12 million dollar sales mart -not including a shadow anchor Sears- covered around 350,000 leasable square feet. There was free parking for 1,800 autos.
