SUNVALLEY CENTER was co-anchored by Macy's Concord. This 3-level department store opened for business in August 1967.

Our first SUNVALLEY layout depicts the 1st Level as it was configured in 1969. At the official dedication of the shopping hub in 1967, the gargantuan 1.2 million square foot facility was hailed as A Special New World of Shopping. There were "soaring sculptures", "sparkling fountains" and "exciting murals." The vast parking area could accommodate 7,500  autos at one time.
