Syracuse's DeWitt ShoppingTown

The SHOPPINGTOWN strip plaza was officially dedicated -with eighteen stores- in March 1954. The open-air complex was touted as "Central New York's newest and greatest regional shopping center." The facility provided free parking for 2,000 autos.
