Baltimore's Mondawmin Center
MONDAWMIN ["mun-dah-min"] CENTER was the first major shopping hub developed by mall maven James Rouse. It was also the first mall-type complex built in Maryland. The facility was named after Mondamin, a Native American deity mentioned in "The Song of Hiawatha," a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
