LEWISTON CENTER opened as a strip-type shopping complex. There were approximately 225,000 leasable square feet and twelve stores and services. Free parking was provided for 1,070 autos. This original tenant line-up lasted until the mid-1970s.

The Tempo -later Rasco Tempo- store went dark in 1976. It was replaced by a Seattle-based The Bon Marche, which held its grand opening in July 1978.
