The Spud State's first mall-type shopping complex was built in Nampa, a western suburb of Boise ["boy-see"]. As a matter of note, "Karcher" rhymes with "archer."

The original KARCHER MALL encompassed around 102,300 leasable square feet and featured seven stores and services. There was free parking for nearly 1,000 autos. The shopping center was officially dedicated in August 1965.
