1977 and the basic shopping complex is in place. A 21 million dollar PHASE II opened in late 1975, with fifty stores. It and the PHASE I mall are now connected via a monorail system, known as SkyCab. A PHASE III structure has also been built. With these additions, the malls of PEARLRIDGE CENTER encompass approximately 1,050,000 leasable square feet. Free parking is provided for 5,000 autos.

A snapshot of the SkyCab monorail system. The .2 mile tram commenced operation in November 1977. Today, it is the only remaining shopping center transit system in the USA (there have been others in Fort Worth, Texas and Dearborn, Michigan).
