Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!

The Pacific Theatres Grossmont Center 10 started out as a triplex venue, in December 1983. It was expanded to 8-screens in May 1995 and to 10 in 1999. The complex was rebranded by the Reading Cinemas chain in February 2008.

Bullock's was shuttered in April 1993. A Target set up shop in the vacant store in July 1995. Montgomery Ward went dark in March 2001 and was followed by the Wal-Mart seen here, in May 2004. This made GROSSMONT CENTER one of the few US malls to feature both Target and Wal-Mart stores.
