Akron-based O'Neill's anchored the north end of the original shopping facility. The store, which opened for business in February 1967, included the posh Hilltop Room restaurant.

The center's center anchor, a 2-level J.C. Penney, opened its doors in August 1967. Its primary features were a Coffee Shop, Beauty Salon, Garden Center and freestanding Auto Center.
