Stores in Greensboro's first mall-type shopping complex began opening in August 1974. The complex was officially dedicated in February 1975.

In a postcard pic, we see the original 2-level complex. At the time, Center Court had 3 levels. The exterior facade extended for 3 levels, as well. The inline store section of the third floor would not be completed until the late 1980s.
