In the late '50s,  the Inland Empire's RIVERSIDE PLAZA was promoted as "the largest, most modern shopping center east of Los Angeles." In its original incarnation, the mall contained fifty-three stores, with thirty-two office suites housed in the adjacent Security-First National Bank building. Free parking was provided for 3,000 autos.
