One of the facets of the 2006-2007 mall makeover and expansion was the reconstruction of four entrances. These were rebuilt with large porticos and wide expanses of glass. With the shuttering of Southfield's 1.7 million square foot NORTHLAND CENTER, in late 2017, TWELVE OAKS became Michigan's largest shopping mall.

Here we see -what was- the mall's Lord & Taylor Court. The L & T chain, which was the nation's oldest department store, shut down between December 2020 and February 2021. The TWELVE OAKS Sears had pulled up stakes in March 2019. Rumor has it that Dick's Sporting Goods will open a store in part of the vacant Sears structure.
