A circa-1993 layout shows three Skyway connections added to MIDTOWN PLAZA in the 1970s and '80s. In fact, the downtown mall served as a link between north and south sections of the city's network of above-grade walkways. This plan depicts the mall just before it entered a downward spiral from which it would never recover. McCurdy's and B. Forman, the two anchor department stores, would close their doors in 1994.
