The early 2000s redo failed to resuscitate RANDHURST MALL, which had been struggling for years to keep up with rival shopping centers. A demalling redevelopment was proposed. This would replace the "obsolete" enclosed mall with the RANDHURST VILLAGE lifestyle center depicted above.

RANDHURST MALL was given a wrecking ball renovation. All structures, except those indicated in black, were demolished between late 2008 and early 2009. These were joined by newly-constructed components (medium gray), which comprised the new RANDHURST VILLAGE. The first phase of openings took place in 2010.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-Mt. Prospect opened, at RANDHURST VILLAGE, in 2011. The 4-story hotel featured 120 guest rooms.
