Detroit's Fairlane Town Center

Greater Detroit's 18th mall was named after Fairlane, a planned city being built by the Ford Motor Company. This development had been named after Fair Lane, the palatial home of Clara and Henry Ford. FAIRLANE TOWN CENTER was part of the Fairlane town site. A mall-wide grand opening was held on March 2, 1976. Another Taubman property, LAKESIDE MALL {in Sterling Heights, Michigan} was dedicated on the same day.
