A third anchor department store was dedicated in April 1976. J.C. Penney (in light gray) presided over the east side of the mall. SIOUX EMPIRE PLAZA now encompassed approximately 650,000 leasable square feet and housed fifty-seven tenants. There was free parking for 3,500 autos.
