The Westminster 6 Theatres, an in-mall movie house, opened -as part of the original mall- in August 1977. By the early 1980s, the freestanding Westminster 5 Theatres was also in operation.

The shopping hub grew by leaps and bounds between 1985 and 1987. There were now five anchors and over one million leasable square feet. WESTMINSTER MALL would be one of the preeminent shopping malls in Greater Denver for several years to come.

The mall's south anchor, J.C. Penney, joined the complex in March 1987.
