Gertz Long Island, which faced on Center Court at MID-ISLAND SHOPPING PLAZA. In the accompanying logo, the store is commemorated as the Gertz chain's "Hicksville" branch.

The gargantuan Gertz stretched upward for 5 levels. The store covered 325,000 square feet and included the Long Island Room restaurant and two outparcels; a Tire & Auto Center and Garden Center.

An architectural drawing of the up & coming Gertz Long Island store is given to Robert F. Waltz (on the right). He is Store President. The two fellows awarding the drawing are Leonard L. Frank (left) and Walter G. Stackler (center). They are developing MID-ISLAND SHOPPING PLAZA.
